Tired of using the word “extraordinary”? Try today’s word.
Preternatural [pree-ter-nach-er-uhl, –nach-ruhl] (adj.):
Supernatural; out of the ordinary course of nature; exceptional or abnormal.
Example:
His powers were preternatural, but he made the mistake of underestimating the strength of those around him.
This is good one, Margaret! I must use it on my preternatural blog.
😀 😀
Excellent word, thanks Margaux! 🙂
Another great word to remember 🙂
I rather think I’d have been more that happy if the schoolmaster all those years ago called me ‘preternatural’ rather than ‘moron.’ What a jolly good word – must use it in a skit!
Haha! It would’ve been more subtle… Well, what can you do now but laugh about it? 🙂 Thank you for commenting.
You find some really awesome words. I still need to use the last one and now this one. Maybe I’ll figure out how to use them in a flash fiction.
Thank you! Too many words and not enough time… 🙂
