  1. I really liked this post. I can’t imagine the strength you need to have to remain positive in the midst of suicide bombings. I admire your bravery.

  2. that you can remain positive and share such a wonderful photo and story is surely a reflection on you. and one that i hope leaves you smiling as it has me. thank you for sharing. may peace & love envelop you and your loved ones.

  3. Hey Margaux… might not be your thing, but you can smash mirrors if you don’t like what you see in them. (Was just reading a Haruki Murakami short story about a psychological mirror.) Anyway, “Better Angels of Our Nature”, Steven Pinker — the world is generally a far more peaceful place today than it has ever been in the past. So the inner-peace you seek should only be getting easier to achive as time marches onwards. Do not let the false mirrors of the worlds media get into you too much! Read about all the good news that is happening. (I’m not trying to gild reality here: a little girl from our local primary school was killed while on holiday with her family this week, just heard about it yestarday, she was a beautiful little gymnast and played piano and was very smart and cute, so I’m not pretending the world is not sad.)

    1. It’s difficult to sea a different reality than the one you live in. All I can do is try to find a better place to live. If I’m lucky enough and my family and I leave this region, we might just see life differently. I am optimistic, however, I wake up with a smile everyday and thank God for all the blessings. Thank you for your comment 🙂

  4. I wake up and complain about the cold, or the snow, or that traffic is slow. Bombings are something I can’t even comprehend having to deal with. Stay Positive, Be safe, and always try to find one reason to smile no matter what your day brings. Your smile may be the one thing to help someone else deal with their day. Meanwhile, I promise not to complain about the snow.

  5. “The appearance of things changes according to the emotions; and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.”

    ― Kahlil Gibran
